How to send anonymous SMS

The simplest way to send anonymous SMS is to use a relay number. Bad News sends your SMS from a relay phone number so your real number stays private.

Steps

  1. Go to Messages and select Text (SMS).
  2. Enter the recipient’s phone number and your message.
  3. Send as Anonymous or add a name.
  4. Read replies in Notifications.

Limitations

  • SMS anonymity depends on the relay: the recipient won’t see your real number, but they can still see the relay number.
  • Carrier filtering and spam rules may affect delivery.
